Pilgrimage: St Bertram at Ilam, Derbyshire
Sayedan Silouan led our pilgrimage to the shrine of St Bertram in Ilam, on Saturday 13th August 2016. The Anglican parish church still retains the stone tomb of the saint which miraculously survived the ravages of the Reformation. After a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy we had a double Blessing of the Waters at both the cave and spring of the saint. A record number of pilgrims attended this year from our Archdiocese and beyond. The weather was very pleasant in this idyllic part of the English countryside and as I am sure you will agree from this specimen picture, everyone was very happy and blessed, especially with our Metropolitan in attendance. A full album may be surveyed here.
