The Deanery Trust Web Page

Annual Report 2003
Submitted to the Charity
Commission
The Deanery has continued to grow during 2003,
providing worship for Orthodox Christians, often in places where it would
not otherwise be available, and to serve the wider community.
During this year we began to expand into Northern
Ireland, and hope soon to have regular worship services in both Belfast and
Dublin. In Dublin it will be the only Orthodox Church to provide services in
English.
The Second Gulf War took place in 2003, and we
felt an immediate concern for our fellow Christians in Baghdad and other
Iraqi cities. We were able to raise £4492 to supply them with emergency food
and medical supplies. In addition we have provided financial help to
Thuris, a new Orthodox centre for drug addiction recovery. We also have
continued to support with a grant the annual summer camp for young people.
In 2003 one of our Deacons, Father Dennis Moffatt,
was ordained to the Priesthood.
Respectfully submitted:
Father Michael Harper
