In Orthodox worship, western type hymns and carols are not used but rather short sung prose poem stanzas called troparia and kontakia. If we do use such hymns (exceptionally) they will be sung AFTER worship as part of a folk tradition. What matters is the words for as we sing, so do we believe. Some carols are great on that score … others less so.

Next year, God willing, Fr Paulinus will be organising the Conference, Fr Gregory having done this since 2009. Fr Alexander (Tefft) will continue as Conference Director and Fr Jakob as Conference chaplain.
